 For each Pair of electrons between two molecules, count one Hybridization point. Single bonds, double bonds, and triple bonds however only count as ONE... I repeat, ONEhybridization point. Also, every pair of Lone electrons not bonded to anything is also worth one hybridization point.

For The use of hybridization points, it goes in the order of S, P, then D...

Therefore Four hybridization points would be SP3 (one in S, 3 in P) Hybridization. Then a molecule with six hybridization points achieves an SP3D2 (one in S, 3 in P, 2 in D)hybridization.
